Deity Debate
Trigger Warnings: There is dark and there is light. Are you comfortable to read on?
I was once meeting online with a group of witches, as headed by a medium who I know from Manchester. We were there to support each other’s development, exchange readings and healing, and just to be friends with one another. It was certainly needed with the dark place I was in at the time. But one thing that struck me as slightly odd was that the leader, an outright witch and communicator with the spirit world, was also reading from Psalms and invoking God. Now, whatever people’s opinions are on either of these matters, we can reserve them for later. Just at the time, the picture didn’t add up. Aren’t Christians and Heathens supposed to be if not enemies, then at least opposite ends of the spectrum?
You, as a reader, might be a believer in one God or you may favour multiple. Or you might be an atheist. You might think mediums are a complete sham and, sadly, most of them are. It’s so easy to make a living from fooling people on things when they can’t see them (auras, the future, the departed, a deadly virus… see a pattern?) It’s preying on their vulnerability, and I don’t condone that kind of behaviour as much as you wouldn’t. I have good reason to trust in my friend’s psychic abilities based on what we’ve spoken about and can understand how some people might be born with greater perception skills or would be able to practice them. What’s become clearer by the day is that there are levels to our reality that we’re just not meant to see, and usually for our own benefit. Just like we can’t pick up infrared or micro-waves with our own senses, neither are we able to tap into the etheric fields that are just as much a part of our world as the material stuff surrounding us. We don’t necessarily have to train tirelessly to develop psychic skills of our own (unless that’s something you’re really drawn to!) but just understanding what goes on in this unseen realm could be a real bonus, if like myself, you’re looking to free yourself from the traps we were born into.
I’m writing today for those who want to get real, even if it means going in heavy. You don’t have to continue. There’s a right time to learning everything and this might or might not be it. Respect your own progress ✊
We are actually herd animals
(But that wouldn’t be such a bad thing if it wasn’t exploited so much)
As time has moved on, it turns out that the head witch was right. The status quo wants to compartmentalize everybody so that when you take their surveys, you can tick one of the boxes. Christian. Muslim. Hindu. Jew. Sikh. Spiritual. Non-religious. Other. Fair enough, this is one of the few questions you can simply leave blank, but the point is, society wants to understand where you stand. Because, when you’re in a category, it’s safe. You can be analysed and subjected to market research. You can fit certain stereotypes to then be segregated and set against each other if need be. And above all, it just makes sense in a society where everything is supposed to make sense, or else it makes people unhappy. But just looking at the above is completely absurd. Why do you have to fit under just one box? Why not borrow the best parts of all of them? Heck, what does spiritual even mean?? For every hundred people that you ask, I can guarantee spirituality is something slightly different to every one of them.
It is actually very wise to build up your foundations around multiple faiths, both mainstream or little-known ones. The reason being is that it gives you a better world view without having to stick dogmatically to one thing. And although it works for some people, I don’t think denying the existence of any kind of higher force is healthy either. Some people might get on just fine without having to think about these questions at all, but only because their material life is comfortable enough that having to push outside of those frames would be too bothersome. Or if asked, they might just brush it off with scientific answers and the theory of evolution. There might be some truth in that, but believing that everything is only down to random chance, that we are microscopic specks in a huge universe (which could have never even existed if it hadn’t banged) and, therefore, doesn’t have any meaning in itself, doesn’t quite sit right either. There’s nothing at all wrong in being happy with living a routine life without ever questioning the bigger picture, unless…
It’s making you callous and ok with harming others
If you’re on the path to self improvement, or
The daily routine is deadening and draining you of any will to live
…In which case, brushing things under the carpet is no longer acceptable!
So, we jump to the next step. Mainstream religion.
There is a reason why it is integrated in popular culture and not posing much of a threat. That is because a lot of the teachings have been diluted and can steer people away from the truth they’re looking for. Like it or not, we are actually herd animals. We obviously have the wonderful capacity to be creative and break away from social norms, but at the end of the day, we still want to be loved, we still want to reproduce and have a happy circle of friends and community around us. Even on a survival level, most have lived in settlements where the roles of hunter/provider, healer, mother, teacher, skilled worker and other roles have been split between the group, so that no one person has to be an expert at everything. It just makes sense that we would be able to tap into the group’s energy field and read each other’s moods, ride along with the seasons and be in the balance of nature. Practically everything about city life, the toxins we’re bombarded with and mind-diet we’re fed is to steer us away from that harmony, so it’s not surprising that telepathy is not a common thing, nor is predicting the weather, being in perfect health or hundreds of other things that are technically our birth-right, but we don’t even know half of them. The accepted religions are almost a way of keeping that quest for truth contained, so that it doesn’t wander further than what’s comfortable for the system. It satisfies the herd mentality, that need to look up to a leader, a way of explaining the mysteries without having to think too deeply about them. Some like/need to be led. Some don’t. Real diversity is a beautiful thing, when you think about it.
However, there’s only so far you can go with the mainstream framework. At the core of most world religions there is a genuine spark, something with the potential to catapult people forward, to enlightenment or whatever they might be looking for. Historical figures such as Buddha, Jesus - whether they were embodiments of the divine or not is debatable, but the chances are they calibrated at a significantly higher level than the rest of the peoples. Enough that they were able to capture the attention of billions, back in the day and millennia after. (If you read up on the Map of Consciousness, you’ll see that the effect of one high ‘vibe’ person can affect 100s-10,000s of people calibrating at a normal level.) But with the way humans have gone on to interpret these teachings, this is where so much has gone wrong. I could start to list the corruption, but it would probably be endless. The way the church has mistreated ‘sinners’ and non-believers make some of the most appalling crimes in history. Rumours have it that some of the most potent sections of the Bible have been removed, leaving us with wishy-washy parables, the meanings of which aren’t entirely obvious. Meanwhile, those who wrote it, I wonder how many different agendas they have in mind?? Muhammed was said to have been granted 72 virgins, including a preteen girl who had only just begun her periods, so what, are we advocating for nonces now?! As for the interactions between them, the crusades, the gruesome killing… why? In the name of what? Your God? Who, in almost all world religions, commands to not murder and do no harm? At least stick to your own logic! Zen has been steered away from the gaining of truth and more towards a fashionable market, filled with scented candles and windchimes and fluffy feel-good mottoes. I rant quite a lot about this in Manifestation Pros and Cons, but you get the picture. Again, the forces of the ‘matrix’ have seen an opening where people could eventually learn to empower themselves and leave them behind, so it had to be shut off into a nice, containable sector that is ruled either by commercialism or a do-what-feels-good mentality. This is more like a painkiller than a cure. You might take a back massage to alleviate stiffness, but unless you drop the excess weight, the problem will return again and again. You might do yoga or go for regular walks in the woods, but unless you get out of the stifling job/relationship/situation entrapping you, this will only at best be a temporary remedy. Seeing the point yet?
Now, I mention ‘matrix’ in inverted commas because it’s a well known concept that most people understand, but it wouldn’t be accurate to say that our real selves are actually living in tubes with robots feeding off of us. However, if you’re happy to continue, you’ll realize this explanation isn’t that far off after all…
So what is the Matrix?
Using film and pop culture can be really useful to explain what is sometimes hard to grasp otherwise. The thing about the deity debate, is that non-human entities don’t really exist for you - or if they do then in the imagination only, or on a faith level - until they start to make an appearance in your life. After that, strange events begin to unfold that pretty much prove the existence of forces both light and dark. It’s not an easy ride…
I don’t mind sharing first hand experiences, as well as what others have said. Bringing back the witch I introduced at the beginning of this, it turned out she was right to call upon God for help, but neither was she wrong to practice Pagan rituals. At the time I had been following a Pagan/Wiccan way of life for a few years, and was only just getting over being butt-hurt by how rude some of the kids at school had been about it. But I also discounted all forms of monotheism as a way to control the masses. Turns out I was wrong, but have no problems admitting that. There is a Creator. someone who designed this whole everything, giving us the space to be as nice or evil as we want. Who or what this Creator is, is currently irrelevant. The religious may claim what they want, give a character and appearance or whatever: it’s Allah, Shiva, a shining light, he, she, it - at the end of the day, it’s all one and the same, just with different packaging on it. For arguments sake, if I call this creative universal force God, then you can picture it how you see fit, but at least we can be on the same page. It doesn’t actually mind what you call it, as long as you acknowledge it exists and set your intentions wisely. When you pray to God, it does listen, although whether or not these get answered depends on if you’re coming from a whingey/ victim mentality or someone who’s willing to put in the work but needs some extra guidance. The way it’s proven its existence to me is in asking for protection. Because there is a flipside. There are other entities, but not all of them are on the side of the greater good.
I’m not a clairvoyant who can see these things coming up in the day time, but dreams have opened up some surprising portals in the last two years alone. There have been demons, some visible, some could only be heard or felt. At first these were some scary experiences, but I often found ways to fend them off alone. A little while later, a few people told me that the way to scare off these entities was to pray to God. One woman who said so was a devout Christian, the others had mixed faiths, but all had had experiences with these creatures and realized that the safest way to make them go is to call upon the highest power that there is. It also clears up any ambiguity pretty quickly. One time I dreamed about a woman who was mixed race and telling me some really interesting things, but I couldn’t tell which side she was really from. So I remembered what the wise people had said and asked the simple question ‘Are you with God? I am.’ After that the woman disappeared with an annoyed hissing, which was all the answer you could need. A few more similar night-time adventures like that using the learnt techniques, and I can confidently say now, yes, there is a Creator. Yes, it cares and will look out for you if you’re in trouble. It’s not going to make all your troubles go away with the wave of a magic wand because then you wouldn’t have learnt anything or have the satisfaction of earning what you have. But we all need a helping hand here and there and if you do for whatever reason meddle with the dark, asking for protection can be crucial. Personally I no longer do spells, as I’ve got a better trust in the universe to bring me what I need when the timing is right, instead of trying to force it’s hand. It feels like a healthier relationship to nature and brings better results.
Discovering that all these things are indeed real has been a massive eye-opener. It might bring you closer to childhood once more, remembering times when we thought we saw faeries at the bottom of the garden… Not that I have had any interactions with the little folk, but what I’ve come to realize is that our Earth operates on different wavelengths, some of which overlap from time to time. The frequencies that its other inhabitants vibrate at has significance, because they can be either higher or lower than what our senses can catch. Not all entities are restricted to Earth either, having the ability to access space/ the firmament or other dimensions. The more you think about it, the more you begin to see that real life is way more fantastical, infinitely more magical than any book, movie or video game ever could be. There is a science behind how this works, known as metaphysics, meaning the physics of the unseen and intangible forces. There are also some cool experiments which actually show how particles react to our thoughts and intention, or prove how everything is linked. I’m not a mathematically minded person, so it would take me a long time to grasp certain concepts, much less explain the hows and the whys. If you wanted to study yourself, a living resource who’s pretty invaluable is Tom Montalk at montalk.net. He could easily be described as one of the geniuses of this age.
I went through a period of extensive study on Montalk’s site and a few others, at a time when I’d convinced myself of being a victim to Love Bite (demonic interference within a romantic relationship. Hence the weird dreams and everything that opened up with it. Whether this was actually true or not remains a mystery, but we live). This brought me to the not at all pleasant concept of energy harvesting. Where the benevolent forces usually step out of the way and let you learn your own lessons, only helping out when called upon, the dark forces literally have set up society as its own feeding ground. A light hearted analogy would be Monsters Inc. What is used to power the cities of the cartoon monsters? Children’s fear. What is fed to us in the media every time a new disaster arises? FEAR. Apparently, these bodiless creatures who go about their existence invisible to us, have a distinct taste for negative emotions. Sound far-fetched? Let me give some relatable examples. Those of you from the protest background might have a real loathing for the Zuckerbergs, Rockerfellers, the ones running the show from behind the scenes. These bloodlines who have clung onto their powerful positions in society for centuries now, are aware of the metaphysical nature of our world and have chosen to align with the life-dulling forces, against nature, for personal gain. Of course, all information is on a need-to-know basis, so don’t expect to be handed the secrets of the universe on a plate if you’ve just joined the local Masonic Lodge for evening tea and chitchats. No, we’re talking about the characters who have over time set up today’s ‘matrix’ and run it in a way that makes it extremely difficult and probably illegal to break free (set up of the system described in Money Money.) In a nutshell, the system is designed so that all us ‘plebs’ waste our lives away in work and misery, so that the ruling classes may live off of our labours and want for nothing. Excuse me, but is this not the definition of a parasite? Look at it in the light of what’s going on behind the scenes. Are these people possessed? Are they getting the perks of serving the ‘dark’ side by being supported in their mission to turn Creation on its head? You know, I’m not saying it is and I’m not saying it isn’t. I’m just saying you need to consider these things so as not to fall victim to their plan. As a race, we need to stay vigilant and aware of the attacks on our health and happiness.
When people say it’s a spiritual war, it 100% is. Not all of us will witness a live bomb exploding, but the hunt for the soul is real. Both the seen AND unseen forces of negativity do their utmost to drag you down, because that is the only way the parasitic set up can stay in place. Besides, if emotions are fuel, why would these entities want to help us enrich our lives, only to cut off their own food supply? Even if you don’t believe in the whole demon thing, that’s totally fine since no one is forcing you to. But to deny that the self-appointed ruling classes are out to keep us in slavery would be a foolish mistake.
To protect ourselves, there are a few things we can do
Be aware of what is going on and guide others who are willing to learn
Switch off the TV
Take steps to become independent of the state with food, transport, etc
Steer clear of energy vampires, both people and situations
Exercise some willpower and work on reducing/ removing your vices
Take responsibility for your own happiness. When it’s being bombarded from all sides, you start to realize just how precious it is. Countless of people and events will try to drag down your good mood, so being able to let the negativity bounce off is a real skill. That doesn’t mean indifference to suffering, it’s just about having a solid foundation vibe to build your life around. And of course, the more this is practiced and shared, the stronger it becomes.
As a last thought, think of the Creator as your friend, and you will get on better. The universe has a fantastic sense of humour, when it brings you synchronicities that just make you want to roll your eyes. As I was on the second and last day writing this article, my ever-random little sister started hollering ‘God help us!’ from the toilet seat, because she’s always trying to be funny. You just don’t get any better than that.
Lovely post Nika. Lots of very valuable suggestions here. Agree 💯 to switch off the TV and propaganda 😄
