Spiritual Bypassing
Trapping the freedom seekers
If you're choosing to engage in any sort of spiritual practices or follow a path, this message is for you. Once you start to notice, this is something you see all the time.
The ones who get carried away. The ones who believe that following a particular teacher or teaching is what's going to save their soul. The ones who start to believe they are in some way more special than the rest of us. The ones who sing and chant because it feels good, but not giving a second thought to what they're actually saying, what it really means. Do you or anyone you know fall under this category?
If yes, I would advise to catch yourself before it becomes too late (how to tell if it's too late? You'll be so triggered by these words that you'll have basically shut off your mind to new ideas before you've even got started.) This is what we call Spiritual Bypassing. It's a trap we let ourselves fall into, although the commercial side to New Age businesses doesn't do any favours. It's just too pretty, too nice, so joyful, that the 'normal' life you had before pales in comparison. Why would you ever want to go back to it, when you can be on a constant pleasure ride in the realm of spirituality?
It shouldn't be any revelation because it's always been the way, but whenever a group of people is found to be breaking out of the confines of ordinariness, really creating happiness and empowering themselves, then A) the 'powers that be' try to find a way of hijacking it and B) the profiteers find a way to sell from it. This has happened to all religions of the world to a varying degree, including spirituality in general. So instead of seeking to learn the mysteries of life, bring oneself closer to God/Source and cut out what's false, people are just using spirituality because it feels good and gives you perks, like improved health and psychic abilities. Or, what's even worse, when the genuine seekers are being led astray by the myriads of con artists and gatekeepers. Why has this been allowed to happen?
Firstly, let's look at the mentality of the gatekeepers. There's a certain class of people that never wanted the rest of the population to be happy, strong, clever, abundant, or anything other than worker bees who just fulfil their function and then die at the end. Corruption must be pretty much as old as civilization. These are the people who early on decided they wanted to be kings, not because they were the fittest or had anything of value to offer society, but because they were the son of So-and-so the Great and quite frankly, wanted to eat the fruits of everyone else's labour. Centuries later, we have the system today where there are a similar set of ruling classes who are quite happy to let everybody else fight for the scraps while they grow stupidly rich. To keep this short, their position relies upon the working class continuing to work, day in, day out and never change a thing. Because heaven forbid we start questioning this routine, question the lies that we're fed. Heaven forbid we start to realize that no one is keeping us in this never ending loophole apart from ourselves. Why? Because if we did, we wouldn't stand for it. We would be actively seeking to shake things up and create the life we truly wanted for ourselves and our family. We would stop taking out loans, paying for endless taxes and doing jobs we hated. At the moment, there aren't enough people who have chosen to 'opt out' to really be threat to the current system, but if these things were to happen on masse, then there'd be nothing left for the ruling classes to feed off and the entire shitshow would collapse. Can you see now then, why they try so hard to keep knowledge hidden away? I think that spiritual evolution is the way that we can break free of this dog-eat-dog mess and start cooperating as a society instead. Knowledge is the first step to power, action is the second and embodying it is the third. But if it's the stupidly rich who control what's spread in the media, aren't they going to deliberately show things that are mind-numbing or distracting?
